To add multi-digit whole numbers
using addition algorithm-
Align the numbers
by place value
Write the numbers one above the other,
aligning the ones, tens, hundreds, and so on.

Add the columns
from right to left
Add the ones: 5 + 9 = 14
Write down 4 and carry 1 to the tens column

Continue adding columns
Add the tens: 7 + 6 + 1 (carried) = 14.
Write down 4 and carry 1 to the hundreds column.
Add the hundreds: 2 + 4 + 1 (carried) = 7
