Sometimes when we use an adverb in a sentence we must change the ending. Example: That dog was skinny. The other dog was skinnier. He was the skinniest dog we had ever seen. The word skinny needs to be changed to skinnier, and skinniest to make sense in the sentences.

Read the words below. Change the endings by adding “er” and then “est” to make new words. If the word ends in a “y” change the “y” to an “i” before adding the ending.
