00:13	dogs . That's right . But before we begin ,

00:41	. That's so cool . It is so much fun

00:55	our videos . Well , as we mentioned earlier in
01:00	this video , we are going to learn about dogs
01:03	. You're gonna be like this dog expert , who
01:06	knows all these cool things about these animals , that
01:09	just about everybody loves everybody loves dogs . Mr Whiskers
01:16	. We had to make this video . Okay ?
01:18	We made the cat video , you know , and
01:21	everybody does , kind of love dogs . You know
01:23	, it's nothing against cats . You know ? We
01:25	made the cat video a long time ago and now
01:27	it's doggy time . Okay . All right . So
01:30	don't look at me that way . All right ,
01:33	so what are dogs ? Dogs are domesticated mammals that
01:38	live all over the world and that were domesticated means
01:43	that are taking care of by people . In fact
01:49	, and this is pretty cool . Most historians believe
01:52	that dogs were the first animals to be domesticated .
01:56	That's right . The first animals to be domesticated And
02:02	catch this in the United States alone . Almost 43
02:06	million households own at least one dog . Dogs are
02:11	so popular . Mhm . Okay . Dogs sure are
02:17	popular . Maybe it's because there's so much fun or
02:22	maybe it's because they're so cute . Look at this
02:24	dog . Why is this dog's so cute and so
02:27	sad . What are you thinking about ? Little doggie
02:30	? What are you thinking about ? Mhm . Okay
02:35	we get it . Dogs are popular and there are
02:38	so many reasons why there's super cool animals , but
02:41	we gotta go through more dog facts because we want
02:44	you to be an expert on dogs . Now if
02:51	you are a dog expert you have to know this
02:54	. There are over 150 types of dogs . That's
02:58	right , share that fact with someone today , ask
03:01	them if they know that there are over 150 types
03:05	of dogs . These types of dogs can look very
03:09	different from one another . Yeah , some dogs are
03:15	huge , like the Great Day , Great danes can
03:18	get up to 30 inches tall and can weigh almost
03:22	£200 but don't let their size scare you . These
03:27	dogs are super friendly , they have been nicknamed gentle
03:32	giants . Other dogs are really small , like the
03:37	chihuahua . Okay , chihuahuas are usually between 6 to
03:40	9 inches tall . These are super small dogs .
03:44	Very very very small dogs . Especially compared to great
03:48	danes , right ? But even though they're small ,
03:51	they can have big personalities and make their presence .
03:54	No . Mm . Mhm . Some dogs have specific
03:59	markings like the Dalmatian dalmatians are famous for their white
04:03	coat and black spots . And you'll find this interesting
04:06	Dalmatian puppies are white when they are born , but
04:10	when they are about four weeks old , they're black
04:13	spots appear . It's pretty cool . Yeah . Okay
04:18	. Let's move on and look at some more interesting
04:21	facts about dogs . Yeah . Oh , we've got
04:26	a grumpy pug . Okay . I know we didn't
04:29	talk about pugs . Alright . But there are over
04:32	150 types of dogs . We can't talk about all
04:37	of you . There isn't enough time . Okay .
04:39	There are over 150 types of dogs pug . Okay
04:43	. I don't care how grumpy you look . Okay
04:45	. All right . The pug is a small dog
04:50	with a really cute wrinkly face . They are sweet
04:54	gentle dogs that are great around kids . Mm for

05:07	the video that seems to be thinking very deeply about
05:10	something and here is a picture of what a pug
05:13	would look like if it had wings and could fly
05:17	. Okay , now , on to more dog facts
05:22	because we are not going to talk about any other
05:26	types of dogs , no matter how grumpy Q or
05:29	persistent they might be . Okay . All right .
05:36	Okay . We are ready for our next fat .
05:40	Did you know dogs see colors differently than we do
05:45	? It's true . So fascinating . Dogs see colors
05:48	differently than we do believe it or not . People
05:53	used to think that dogs were completely colorblind . Scientists
05:57	later discovered that dogs can see colors . They just
06:01	see them as yellows , browns and blues here ,
06:09	let's show you this is gonna be super cool .
06:11	So , say there's this garden , Okay . And
06:14	this is the way we see it . We see
06:16	the reds and the greens and all of the full
06:18	colors . Well , this is what a dog sees
06:22	pretty different , isn't it ? Some of the colors
06:24	are missing the reds , right ? The greens ,
06:28	it's mostly yellow spray rounds and blues . This is
06:32	the way a dog sees color . All right .
06:39	So we see more colors than dogs do . But
06:41	dogs have us beat with their sense of smell .
06:44	Dogs have a much better sense of smell than we
06:48	do . They have way more smell receptors in their
06:51	noses than we do . And the part of their
06:53	brain that figures out smells is larger than ours .
06:58	Yeah . Uh That means as this dog is sniffing
07:03	this flower , this dog is picking up smells and
07:07	scents that we would never even know were there .
07:11	Uh Now , with this next fact , we need
07:15	your help , what our baby dogs called . Do
07:18	you know uh puppies ? Great job there called puppies
07:27	. Dogs are considered puppies until they are one year
07:31	old . Uh Now this is interesting . Did you
07:36	know puppies are born blind , deaf and without teeth
07:41	. That means right when they're born they can't see
07:44	, they can't hear and they don't have any teeth
07:47	, but they don't stay that way for long and
07:49	they grow fast . Yeah . Okay . We have
07:55	one final fact for you . And this fact is
07:58	a little bit weird . Dogs only sweat from their
08:04	paws . What a random weird fact . They only
08:08	sweat from their paws . We sweat in many areas
08:13	of our bodies , but dogs only sweat from their
08:16	paws because sweat is not the main way that dogs
08:20	cool down . Thanks . The main way a dog
08:26	cools down is by panting . Have you ever seen
08:29	a dog pants before ? Uh , that is the
08:34	way a dog cools down . Oh , cute puppy
