01:02 | Hello , everyone . Welcome to today's ed short session | |
01:05 | on Florida standards assessments . We'll discuss the available testing | |
01:09 | guidelines , blueprint changes , testing Windows and more about | |
01:13 | the 2021 Florida State tests . Let's get started in | |
01:18 | the next 10 minutes . I will share the most | |
01:21 | important updates We know about the upcoming Florida assessments . | |
01:28 | The Florida standards assessments are for all grades from 3 | |
01:32 | to 10 . The English language Arts F S A | |
01:36 | are divided into reading and writing tests . The writing | |
01:40 | assessments are taken by students in grades 4 to 10 | |
01:43 | and are conducted in a single , as in one | |
01:46 | session test of 120 minutes . The reading assessments are | |
01:50 | taken by students in grades 3 to 10 , and | |
01:53 | we'll have two sessions . It is administered as one | |
01:56 | session per day , with each session duration varying from | |
02:00 | 80 to 90 minutes , depending on the grade . | |
02:04 | The Florida math assessments are taken by all students in | |
02:07 | grades 3 to 8 . For grades 3 to 5 | |
02:10 | . It is conducted as two sessions , one session | |
02:13 | per day , whereas for grades 6 to 8 , | |
02:16 | it is conducted in three sessions across two days . | |

04:45 | they may use to take notes and plan their responses | |
04:49 | . The planning sheet is a one page , letter | |
04:51 | sized sheet . The front of the sheet is lined | |
04:55 | . Grades 7 to 10 students will take the E | |
04:58 | . L . A . Writing tasks on the computer | |
05:00 | and attempted by typing their response into the text box | |
05:04 | . CBT worksheets and work folders are for CBT assessments | |
05:09 | only . There are several resources offered by the Florida | |
05:12 | Department of Education to help students practice for the Florida | |
05:16 | standards assessments . Both paper based and computer based practice | |
05:21 | tests are available with limited questions , along with directions | |
05:25 | on how to answer them . These examples will familiarize | |
05:29 | students with the items . Some commercially available programs also | |
05:34 | offer realistic F S A practice to help prepare students | |
05:37 | for the assessments with rigorous practice and targeted remediation for | |
05:42 | their skill gaps . With these readily available practice tests | |
05:47 | that mirror the F S A blueprints , teachers can | |
05:50 | diagnose students is learning gaps and measure learning games . | |
05:54 | Along with providing realistic test practice , Teachers can also | |
05:59 | embed these F S A items as bell ringers during | |
06:02 | regular classroom sessions to offer sufficient practice to students . | |
06:07 | Driving remedial that are focused on addressing individual students is | |
06:11 | weaker . Areas with supplemental study resources is also easier | |
06:16 | . With these programs , F S A test reports | |
06:22 | maps student performance to five levels . Level one is | |
06:26 | inadequate . Students in this group have a high requirement | |
06:30 | of substantial support to move forward into the next grade | |
06:35 | . Level two is below satisfactory . Students here also | |
06:39 | need a substantial support to move to the next grade | |
06:43 | . Level three is satisfactory . Students here may need | |
06:47 | additional support for the next grade . Level four is | |
06:51 | proficient . Students in this group are likely to excel | |
06:55 | in the next grade . At level five is mastery | |
06:59 | . Students in this category are highly likely to excel | |
07:03 | in the next grade . The lowest score in Level | |
07:06 | three is the passing score for each grade level and | |
07:10 | subject . The following are the announced dates for the | |
07:16 | 2021 Florida standards Assessments for Grade three reading and grades | |
07:21 | 4 to 10 . Writing March 8th through the 11th | |
07:25 | 2021 for grades 4 to 10 . Reading and grades | |
07:29 | 3 to 8 . Mathematics April 5th through the 15th | |
07:33 | 2021 due to Covid 19 and the testing policies . | |
07:42 | Schools need proctors to ensure completion of on site and | |
07:46 | online testing schedules , while proctors are not required in | |
07:50 | rooms where 25 or fewer students are being tested , | |
07:53 | Florida Department of Education strongly encourages the use of Proctor's | |
07:58 | in all test administrations to help reduce testing irregularities and | |
08:03 | provide support . School personnel and non school personnel may | |
08:08 | be trained as proctors . Prior to testing , Proctor's | |
08:12 | must be informed of their duties , test security policies | |
08:15 | and procedures . School personnel proctors will prepare and distribute | |
08:21 | secure materials and provide necessary accommodations . Non school personnel | |
08:26 | assist test administrators during testing , but they are not | |
08:30 | to participate in any of the test administration procedures , | |
08:34 | such as distributing and collecting secure materials , providing accommodations | |
08:39 | , et cetera . Volunteers . For example . Parents | |
08:43 | retired teachers may be trained as proctors and may perform | |
08:47 | non school personnel duties . All proctors may help monitor | |
08:51 | rooms during test administration . However , they may not | |
08:55 | assist in rooms where their family members are testing . | |
