Have you ever wondered what happened to the dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth? Well scientists have developed several theories throughout the years. One such theory is that a gigantic meteorite crashed into our planet, causing a massive dust cloud to cover the Earth. The dust cloud was so enormous that it blocked the rays of the Sun from reaching Earth. This caused all of the plants to die. With nothing to eat, the herbivores died. The large carnivores also died, leaving the planet without dinosaurs. Other theories suggest that different factors, such as volcanic eruptions or climate change might have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. However, the impact theory is currently the most widely accepted explanation for the extinction of the dinosaurs.

The writer points out that dinosaurs died because a giant meteorite crashed into Earth. Which of the following would make a counterpoint?
