Grandma’s Chocolate Cake

Section 1

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

2 cups white sugar

2 sticks of room-temperature butter

2 eggs

¾ cup cocoa powder

1 cup milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. salt

Section 2

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour two 8-inch cake pans.

2. Combine eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and butter. Beat until smooth.

3. Sift together the flour, salt, and cocoa powder.

4. Slowly add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.

5. Mix until batter is smooth.

6. Pour the batter into the floured and greased cake pans.

7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

8. Cool in pans on a cooling rack for 30 minutes.

9. Ice cake with your favorite frosting.
