Read the two fables and answer the questions.

Fable A. Once a gazelle was running as fast as she could possibly go to outrun the lion who was pursuing her. She had a good lead, and was probably going to outrun the lion, when she came to a river. Although she could swim, the water looked cold and uninviting. She hesitated on the bank of the river, not wanting to jump in. While she debated, the lion overtook her and she became his dinner.

Fable B. Once a gazelle was running as fast as she could possibly go to outrun the lion who was pursuing her. She had a good lead, and was probably going to outrun the lion, when she came to a river. Without looking, she jumped into the water where a crocodile was waiting and she became his dinner.

What is a major similarity in the two fables?
