Understanding Multiplying Fractions with Models - 5.NF.B.4A
Flash Cube

This face introduces the concept of multiplying fractions with models.
Represent the first fraction as a part of a whole using a model. For example, if we have 1/2, we can represent it as half of a shape.
Illustrate the multiplication of fractions using the model. For instance, if we want to multiply 1/2 by 1/3, we can divide the shape representing 1/2 into three equal parts and shade one of those parts.
Show the result of the multiplication as a fraction using the model. Continuing from the previous example, shading one out of the three parts of the shape representing 1/2 results in 1/6.
Use the model to visualize the multiplication process, emphasizing the idea that multiplying fractions involves finding a fraction of a fraction.
Summarize the understanding gained from the model, highlighting how visualizing fractions can aid in multiplying them effectively.
